MAP-i Symposium 2022 on October 14th at the University of Minho (Campus de Gualtar, Braga)

10 September 2022

The 2021/2022 annual MAP-i Symposium will take place at the University of Minho, on October 13/14. The program will include the public discussion of thesis proposals and the presentation of progress reports. It will also include an welcome session to the new students with the presentation of the courses offered for the edition of 2022/2023, where the students are expected to choose the optional courses.

JOÃO PEDRO FONSECA TEIXEIRA CONCLUDED THE PHD

João Pedro Fonseca Teixeira concluded his PhD the 23th of May 2022, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, with a thesis entitled "An anatomical breast atlas: automatic segmentation of key points in multiple radiological modalities". He was advised by Hélder Filipe Pinto de Oliveira (FCUP,  U Porto) and  Luís Filipe Teixeira (FEUP, U Porto).

CARLOS EDUARDO TEIXEIRA TAVARES CONCLUDED THE PHD

Carlos Eduardo Teixeira Tavares concluded his PhD the 27th of May 2022, at the University of Minho, in Guimarães, with a thesis entitled "Foundations for Quantum Algorithms and Complexity". He was advised by Luís Soares Barbosa (U Minho). Work was supported by INESC TEC (HASLAB center).

João Miguel Rafael de Carvalho concluded his PhD the 10th of May 2022, at the University of Aveiro, with a thesis entitled "Compression-based Pattern Recognition: An example on ECG Biometrics". He was advised by Susana Brás (U Aveiro) and Armando Pinho (U Aveiro).
