Alexandre Madeira won the IBM 2014 Scientific Prize


Alexandre Madeira won the IBM Portugal 2014 Scientific Prize, a distinction conceded for his research work based on his MAP-i PhD Thesis (completed in July 2013), under the supervision of Professors Luís Soares Barbosa (UMinho) and Manuel António Martins (UAveiro).

In 1990, IBM Portugal created the IBM Scientific Prize to distinguish young Portuguese researchers in the field of Computer Science. The prize is worth 15000€ and is highly regarded in the research community.

This prize was awarded for the first time to a MAP-i student. Alexandre Madeira completed his PhD thesis "Foundations and Techniques for Software Reconfigurability" in July 2013, under the supervision of Professors Luís Soares Barbosa (Uminho) and Manuel António Martins (UAveiro).
